While the Workshops programme was a reasonable success, I had to apologise to each group for the apparent simplicity of at lease the earliest Chapters. (After Morning Tea on Day 1 they would start the head-scratching.) I resolved to produce something which covered essentially the same ground (Refrigeration basics, primarily for the air conditioning Industry). But the idea was to present this at a level of increased depth, as would suit Delegates attending these Workshops presented on behalf of SAIMechE. Also, while Refrigeration had been almost entirely air conditioning oriented, this time the plan has been to accommodate also the 'Pure Refrigeration' folk. As a Happy Pensioner I am not stuck for spare time. Generating these animated PowerPoints has become a prime interest in my life. It is an incredibly drawn-out task of love. This new "Refrigeration Explained -- Advanced Version" is nearing the end of its complex preparation. But I have become involved in writing a series in RACA Magazine which, to a point, examines energy shortcomings in the plants we typically install. This led to me being obliged to learn something of the elements of function of Electronic Expansion Valves. I contacted a good Internet friend, Peter Christaen, who is a contractor and also teacher in Belgium of the subject "Refrigeration." Ever since we first made contact many years back, Peter has been extremely patient and helpful with me. As my new material hopefully will become available within the next few months, I thought it would be appropriate to release a preview so as to make known what you can expect from this form of training, as well as assisting the merry folk who are the faithful followers the article. This will be a 14 Meg download. You are invited to please be my guest! For it to run successfully, you
will require a computer with sound, reasonable muscle and memory, and one
equipped with PowerPoint 2003, or later. (An earlier version just won't
do!)
